"Hello Wave"

This piece evokes the delicate, fleeting beauty of a coral reef. Inspired by underwater photographs taken during a holiday in Papua New Guinea, the work captures the play of light as it refracts through shallow waters.

The subtle transition from the bright, shallow blues to the deeper tones of the ocean is brought to life through the watercolour base. The stacked loops, crafted with acrylic paint pen, mimic the organic forms of coral, while the barrel wave is delicately formed with layers of colour and shadow.

The motion of the water and the textures of the reef are preserved in a vibrant, rhythmic dance.
